Be an Original, Like Me
Be an Original, Like Me
Every day it’s the same…
“Be original, don’t let others tell you what to do,”
But how can I do that if you’re the one molding me?
“Stand tall and proud of who you are, be independent.”
But how can I be independent when you force dependence on me?
“Be proud of your heritage and culture, show it off.”
Unless I embarrass you, then you want me to bury it down but if
YOU ask “Hey can you be like them? Act like that, dance like that?”
I’ll say “Yes some stereotypes are true, but most are false.”
“Be feminine, be graceful lik
Seasons of Knowledge
Like the layering of fresh snow on a grass plain in winter
The binding of each book is smooth and soft
If ye were to run ye hand upon the covering
Than ye would understand the magic that it holds
Fresh autumn leaves resting in crisp piles
Describes the feeling of the pages that take me miles
Into the pages I dive and
Rest in the words of the stories I love
Scents richer than spring rain
Mirror stories of love, happiness and pain
Bathe in the knowledge of others, I do
And pretend that what I read is in fact true
A summer breeze wafts through the Tree of Knowledge
Below it ye shall find me feasting on its fruit

BREATHE
I was walking home from school as I do every day when I felt the cold pressure of six smooth, freshly manicured hands grab me and roughly pull me into the alley. I barely had time to register what I knew was coming before I felt the sharp sting of Julia’s hand slashing my face and spinning me into Amy who quickly ripped my backpack from my body hard enough to bruise and sending my papers flying throughout the dirty alley. I let out a small cry of pain before I felt a hard punch in my stomach, I didn’t know who did it this time, they always took turns. I coughed violently as all air left my body and I stumbled into Rachel
Transition
I woke up in a strange room; I felt groggy, sick and my head was throbbing. I got out of the bed with difficultly stumbling over to a window and gripped the pane to help support myself. I pulled back the curtains and look up at the fading black sky to a light pink.
It’s almost morning, where am I? How did I get here?
I rested my head against the window letting the cool glass soothe my head. I tried remembering what happened but my headache shot up and felt like my head was splitting in half. I put my head in hands and knelt down stunned by pain “Ahhhhhh!” I screamed.
What is wrong with me? I have to get out of
Chapter 6: The Encounter
At the end of the day I ran out the back of the school to get to Carly’s car to try and avoid seeing Axel. I sniffed for his scent and as expected I caught the smell of amber, cinnamon and autumn. I snared and looked up to see his car waiting for me in the corner of the parking lot. I could feel Axel’s eyes on me even from the distance between us and I drifted into the crowd of students and made a straight dash to Carly’s car. She was at her car leaning against the waiting for Jake to come to try and talk to him again. “Hey Carly, can we leave? I have to get home early today.”

Chapter 5
The Return
Caleb was still grilling me when he pulled into my driveway. He had spent about five minutes yelling at me about how I messed up his paint job, and if I screwed up his brakes how he’d kill me and blah blah blah. I faded in and out of the conversation with the memory of that smell, it was so damn fresh and close that when it just stopped, ugh!
“Caleb?” I ask in the middle of Caleb’s speech.
“And another thing…” Caleb goes on without hearing me.
“Caleb?” I ask a little louder.
“I spent two hundred bucks on that paint…”
“Caleb will you sto
Chapter 4
VINCE
I stood on top of a tree branch watching her as entered; she had followed my scent here just like I planned. She looks just as beautiful as always, her rich caramel skin clear and smooth, her long black hair flows down her back and her silver strikes shine beautify in the low sun rays, her green eyes are so bright I could see them from here.
“Is that her?” a sweet voice asks.
I turn and see Alexandra standing lightly on the branch next to me. She is wearing a pair of blue jeans, a black t shirt, and black converse which stand out against her ghostly pale skin. Her dark red hair is hanging loosely around her wais
CHAPTER 1
Present Day
It took Clayton three tries to unlock the door to the museum “Hey, I got it guys.” Clayton said slurring his words. His friends hooted with approval and took another drink from their beer cans walking into the museum. Clayton and his friends had been out for hours drinking and driving bored out of their minds, until a couple of girls suggested that Clayton steal his dads’ keys to the museum so they could go drinking there. Clayton’s best friend Haden handed him another beer can from the mini cooler he was carrying under his arms, Clayton took a big gulp out of it and then followed behind his frie
PROLOGUE
1554, a small village located in Eastern England
The angry villagers poured into the farmhouse searching for the monster. Tristan and Meredith, the priest’s daughter, were on the second floor too deep into each other to notice the noise on the lower floor. The two were on a pile of hay, Meredith’s arms wrapped tightly around Tristan as he was kissing her hard, his tongue pouring into her mouth, tasting her. She had reminded him of all the things he had long since given up, she tasted of life, sunlight, and warmth, he missed this, he craved it, and he wanted more. He quickly moved his hands to her blouse unbuttoning it
Chapter 3: The Scent
After about fifteen more rounds, I had won them all but Caleb got close on the ninth try, we make it back to our starting spot and the sun was starting to come over the mountains "Uh, damn. I got to get home to change for school." I say grabbing my jacket looking down at my dirt covered clothes.
"Yeah, me too." Caleb grabs his shades and starts toward the car.
"You know you did pretty well back there. I think soon enough you'll be ready to take on one of the pups." I say teasing as I step over a tree root.
"Ha ha ha, you are so funny. You know you willn't be laughing when I finally bet you." Caleb says sarcasticall
